Huey Magoo’s is planning a new drive-thru restaurant in Princeton, Texas, with interior construction slated to begin in December and wrap up in early 2027. The restaurant will go into an end-cap space of about 2,200 square feet at Princeton Meadows, a newly built multi-tenant building at 1560 W. Princeton Dr., Suite 107. Franchisee Abdhesh “AJ” Jha is leading the group behind the development.
State filings estimate the build-out at about $350,000 and describe a layout with a dining area, kitchen, service counter, restrooms and back-of-house space, along with the drive-thru lane.
Princeton is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The Collin County suburb added roughly 9,000 residents in a single year, growing from about 28,000 to about 37,000 between 2023 and 2024, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
The restaurant is tied to a larger deal. Huey Magoo’s announced a 12-restaurant development agreement that brings the brand into Texas and expands it in Alabama. The agreement calls for eight restaurants in the North Dallas market and four in Birmingham, Alabama. It was signed with the Jha Rajput Patel group, led by managing partners Abdhesh “AJ” Jha, Abhisek “AB” Rajput and Gopal Patel. According to the company, the partners have experience in restaurant operations, transportation and logistics, real estate and multi-unit franchise ownership, including franchise locations for other brands.
“We were looking for a brand with a high-quality product, strong business model and a leadership team that truly supports its franchisees,” Rajput said in the announcement. “Huey Magoo’s delivers on all three. We see real opportunity for growth and look forward to becoming long-term partners in each of the communities we serve.”
Huey Magoo’s is known for its hand-crafted chicken tenders, which it calls “The Filet Mignon of Chicken.” The brand has more than 85 locations in 12 states and is on track to reach 100 locations in 2026. President and CEO Andy Howard said the agreement “reflects the continued strong interest we’re seeing from experienced multi-unit franchisees.”
The company had a busy 2025. It introduced a condensed 1,500-square-foot prototype that lowers build-out costs and opens the door to smaller real estate sites. It also launched its Magoo’s Rewards loyalty program and added Grilled Tender Bites and an expanded handcrafted lemonade menu.
