Dallas’ Lake Highlands neighborhood will gain a ZAAP Kitchen Lao and Thai Street Eats. A ZAAP Kitchen Facebook post stated that the new Lake Highlands location is coming soon to Abrams Rd. and Skillman St. next to Alamo Drafthouse.

Zaap means delicious in Laotian/Lao, according to the brand’s website. “That seems the most fitting name for ZAAP Kitchen because all of our dishes are not only beautiful, but also delicious. Not many people know about the country of Laos, but one of its best kept secrets is the cuisine,” stated the site.

Currie and noodle dishes dot the ZAAP Kitchen menu. Diners can sample Pad Thai and a variety of fried rice dishes and stir fries, soups featuring your choice of protein, and a number of salads. Sticky rice, which is a national staple of Laos, jasmine rice, and fresh vegetables are available as sides.

Tony and Manichanh Moe Singharaj first opened ZAAP Kitchen on Greenville Ave. back in 2018. The family-operated restaurant continues to serve a variety of made-to-order dishes on Greenville Ave., as well as at three other locations—Casa Linda in Dallas, on N. Buckner in Dallas, and in Fort Worth. Two other spots are planned for ZAAP Kitchen including in Plano and Las Colinas.
