Southlake foodies with a Tex-Mex itch, don’t worry, help is on the way. Lupe Tortilla, a chain with deep Texas roots, has chosen the neighborhood for a new location, with construction slated to start this spring.
The eatery is bringing its signature fajitas and margaritas to 2701 East State Highway 114. Lupe Tortilla will be setting up camp in a renovated storefront that paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation states will give the restaurant a dedicated 8,439 square feet in which to greet and serve guests.
Work is set to begin on Lupe’s Southlake location this spring; forms show construction should commence on the project on April 15 of this year and will wrap by July 1. What Now Dallas has reached out to leadership for further information regarding the opening and will update readers as details become available. For now, locals can be cautiously optimistic that they’ll be enjoying a hot, delicious fajita this summer.
Lupe Tortilla’s been a Texas institution since entering the dining scene in 1983. The chain has 31 locations and an army of fans who appreciate its stated mission: “To serve the best tasting, most creative, colorful, and consistent food possible, in an environment we would be proud for the most important person in our lives to be served in.”
