Residents of Brick Row, a luxury apartment community in Richardson, will soon not have to go far to get their cup of joe fix.

A new coffee shop is in the works for 743 Brick Row, a fairly busy location that is home to restaurants like Sababa Mediterranean Cuisine and Tuscany Italian Bistro. Occupying suite 350, 7th Day Coffee’s tentative opening date is scheduled for May 2022.

7th Day Coffee gets its name from the Bible when God rested on the seventh day from all the work He had done. “We wanted to create a space where people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds can come in and utilize the shop to create conversations, do work, study, or simply, take a break (or “rest”) over a cup of coffee,” co-owner Sam Oh shared in an email with What Now Dallas.

Oh, along with his brother-in-law and business partner, Blake Brister, have been working together for the past year on the project. They decided to bring 7th Day to Richardson, and specifically Brick Row, due to the small amount of craft coffee/third wave coffee shops in the area.

“We are also located right below an apartment complex as well as in front of a busy street during the mornings so there is a lot of potential there,” Oh said. “It also helps that we are located between two great tasting restaurants for those who would like to get dessert afterwards and we would only be a few steps away from either of them.” A fine plan, indeed.

While 7th Day is sure to have a good number of regulars from the Brick Row apartment complex, the shop is looking forward to serving a quality cup of coffee to anyone and everyone who steps through its doors. There will be a space for guests to pick up mobile orders and the 1,681-square-foot shop will also be open for dine-in.

7th Day will source its coffee beans from Edison Coffee Co. out of Flower Mound. The menu will be minimal with a rotation of a few specialty drinks throughout the different seasons. For those who would like an alternative to coffee, teas and juices will also be available. Food items will include pastries, bagels, and breakfast tacos.

A website is currently in the works. To stay updated on 7th Day Coffee, follow the brand on Instagram (@7thdaycoffee).
