Colorado Plus Brew Pub and Taphouse has announced its plans to permanently shut down. The longtime favorite in Wheat Ridge’s craft beer scene will pour its final drink on May 30, 2026.
The brewery, located on W 38th Avenue, first opened in May 2013. It is known for serving exclusively Colorado-made beers on tap alongside a scratch kitchen.
Wheat Ridge Brewery Colorado Plus to Close After 13 Years
After 13 years of service, Colorado Plus Brew Pub and Taphouse is preparing to say goodbye. The taphouse has set May 30, 2026, as the final day of operations. It is a Wheat Ridge staple and is well-known in the local craft beer scene for its Colorado-only taps.
Eugene Khang, owner of the taphouse, shared the closure announcement on social media with a long emotional note. Founded in 2013, the brewpub became a favorite hangout for both casual diners and beer enthusiasts. It offers a mix of house brews, guest pours, and a diverse food menu.
Popular menu items include Savory Gravy Burger, Kiddo Grilled Cheese, varieties of salads, and other shareable small plates. The drinks menu offers options like Raspberry Parade, Snow Job, Ginger Ale, and more.
However, the primary focus of the brewery always remained on quality and serving local beers on tap.
In the Facebook post, Khang said, “The concept has changed throughout the years, and we started allowing out-of-state beers, but we never wavered from offering the best that craft brewing had to offer.”
Industry Shifts Led to Closure
According to the closure announcement, the owner of the brewery pointed out broader changes in the industry as a key reason behind the decision.
He said, “Times change, and with changing times come changing trends, and being able to adapt to the changes can be challenging, and there comes a time when one has to take a deep breath and step back.”
In the statement, he also explained that the craft beer landscape is rapidly evolving. Increased competition and changing preferences make operations difficult.
Colorado Plus will remain open through May 30, giving its fans a final chance to stop by before closing its doors. As it winds down, the brewpub will use its final days to celebrate its journey with the Wheat Ridge community.
