Golden is awaiting the opening of a new watering hole that will provide laid-back fun: The Down Low. According to the city’s Chamber of Commerce, the venue will be a billiards lounge, located at 1224 Washington Avenue, Suite 135B.
Bocchini of Colorado LLC, the entity behind The Down Low, received approval for a tavern liquor license in mid-September, records show. Stevin Bocchini is listed as being part of the venture. The business name was incorporated in November of last year.
The company recently started a social media presence, and posted a few weeks ago showing construction progress in the shell space. It also announced that it is hiring for a number of positions: General Manager, Bar Manager/Assistant Manager/Key Holder, Bartender, Bar Back, and Bouncer.
Progress posts show The Down Low is still in the build-out phase, but a timeline for opening is unknown. It’s likely not too much work is needed, as the place previously housed a bar — The BC Underground — for over two decades. That venture shuttered in the spring.
