Barnes & Noble will expand its presence in Colorado Springs with a new bookstore featuring a cafe, set to debut next year. According to The Gazette, the business will be moving in at 3173 Cinema Point in the First & Main Town Center.
The store is expected to open in June 2026, VP of Store Planning & Design Janine Flanigan told What Now Denver. It will be 18,00 square feet, with a modern design, event space, and an updated B&N Café serving hot and cold beverages alongside sweet and savory food options.
This expansion comes as Barnes & Noble defies broader retail trends. While many reading retailers have downsized in recent years, the brand has done the opposite, planning more than 100 openings for 2024 and 2025. The company opened more stores last year than it did during the ten years between 2009 and 2019, USA Today claims.
Colorado Springs currently has two Barnes & Noble locations, one at 795 Citadel Drive East and the other at and Briargate Blvd. The property at the Citadel store is up for sale, but the business has said it will continue operations there regardless.
