Spring 2022 is the planned opening date for a new women-owned coffee shop that will bring the flavors of Guatemala to Denver. The Convivio Café is a concept developed by co-owners Kristin Lacy and Vivi Lemus. The new coffee shop will be located inside Enigma Bazaar on West 38th Avenue and Yates.

In Guatemala, convivio means a get together where everyone is welcome. Convivio Café invites friends and neighbors to have a seat, connect, and enjoy the flavors of Central American food and drink.

According to the Convivio Café website, the co-owners are on a mission “to be the first women-owned, Guatemalan-inspired, bilingual café in Denver.” They raised more than $60,000 through a Mainvest crowdfunding effort to lease the property and plan for the buildout.

The café will feature farmer-roasted coffee and artisanal tea. The new menu includes an espresso bar with classic lattes, horchata, and cardamom flavors.

Food items will include fresh dishes that can be found on the streets of Central America. Small plates of enchiladas, nachos, empanadas, and more, along with pastries will be featured. The pastry menu includes coffee-dunking cookies and scones.

Convivio Café has been sharing its Guatemalan coffee and tea flavors at pop-up events around the Denver area. If you can’t join a pop-up before the brick-and-mortar location opens, items are available for purchase online.

Convivio Café will be located at 4923 W. 38th Ave., Denver, CO 80212.
