Craft beer lovers will soon have a reason to celebrate with a rotating taproom concept set to open in Denver’s Skyland neighborhood. Ephemeral Rotating Taproom will host a new brewery every few weeks to offer locals and visitors alike an opportunity to try new brews.

“We’re going to be a home for breweries that don’t have a Denver taproom,” Ephemeral Rotating Taproom co-owner Weston Scott told What Now Denver. Whether that’s a brewery from just outside of the city, in the mountains, in other parts of Colorado, or even out of state, they’ll have a chance to offer their favorites at the taproom for three to four weeks depending on the brewery’s popularity.

Scott has been involved in the beer industry for a decade. “I always worked with a brewery that didn’t have a Denver taproom, and that’s always been a hurdle.” Scott believes the exposure of having a Denver taproom will help everyone involved from the suppliers to the distributors while allowing guests a chance to try a variety of new brews locally.

Ephemeral Rotating Taproom was originally planned to open in September 2021, but the city of Denver just approved required paperwork this week. Scott said they are now hoping to open sometime in March or April of 2022.

The taproom will be located in the former Ben’s Super Market at 2301 E. 28th Ave., Denver, CO 80205. The space has been gutted and will feature a taproom with indoor seating and a small market to offer snacks such as a few throwback items from Ben’s—penny candy and dill pickles.

Ephemeral Rotating Taproom will also serve food from Maria Empanada and non-alcoholic drinks such as coffee, iced tea, and kombucha. They hope to eventually add a patio.

“There’s not really a local watering hole,” Scott said. “We hope to bring neighbors together and be that local place where they all want to come and meet their neighbors.” Scott co-owns Ephemeral Rotating Taproom with Shannon Lavelle.
