Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is preparing to open its newest location at 8176 S Wadsworth Blvd. in Littleton, according to leasing records. The national chain is bringing its famous Texas-style barbecue to the Southwest Submarket complex.

The Littleton Dickey’s will be located in a 2,614-square-foot space on the first floor of a multi-tenant retail building. The space, previously an old bar and pub, is undergoing significant renovations, a company representative tells What Now Denver. Bobby Rusnak is the franchise owner of the location.

“We are excited to bring Dickey’s Barbecue to Littleton. My mom and dad became franchisees in 2011 after they retired from the Air Force. I took over the operations in 2016. Since then, we have grown from our initial four locations in Colorado Springs to 15 locations throughout Colorado. Littleton is the next right city to spread the Dickey’s joy,” Rusnak told the publication.

Founded in 1941 in Dallas, Texas, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has grown into the largest barbecue franchise in the world. It is known for its authentic, slow-smoked meats smoked on-site using hickory wood, along with classic sides like mac and cheese and barbecue beans.

“Bob and Bobby Rusnak are exactly what Dickey’s is about…family and legacy. They have created a wonderful Dickey’s footprint in Colorado. We look forward to watching them continue to grow and working with them for many years to come,” said Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Inc.
