A planned revival of one of Five Points’ most iconic landmarks is in action. Westword reports that The Rossonian Hotel (2650 Welton St.) will see a second life, with Palisade Partners redeveloping the building into a hotel with an accompanying restaurant, jazz bar, and possible speakeasy.

Palisade Partners’ website explains the redeveloped hotel will have a restaurant on the first floor, a jazz bar in the basement, and an addition to the property. There will be guest rooms on floors two through four.

Originally built in 1907, the property once hosted famous jazz musicians acts like Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. According to Denver Architecture Foundation, the property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, and Palisade Partners acquired it in 2017.

There have not been many updates on the status of the hotel since a meeting regarding building repairs was held over the summer. The project status is listed as “in development” on the website, and the company did not respond to requests for more information.
