Two of the Pikes Peak Region’s leading craft breweries are merging, as Goat Patch Brewing Company announced the acquisition of Pikes Peak Brewing Company. The longtime local business is located at 1756 Lake Woodmoor Dr. in the town of Monument.
After 13 years, Chris and Judi Wright, founders of Pikes Peak Brewing, are retiring. In a press release, Chris Wright shared his gratitude, saying, “It has been an honor to serve our Monument neighbors and the Colorado Craft Beer Community. The bonds we’ve formed over the past 13-plus years have meant the world to me and our entire staff. I am excited to watch the future of Pikes Peak Brewing with the continued support from Monument and the Colorado Craft Beer consumer.”
Goat Patch Brewing currently operates at a 3,000-barrel (BBL) capacity at its Lincoln Center brewery near downtown Colorado Springs. The acquisition of Pikes Peak’s 10,000-BBL production facility marks a significant opportunity for growth for the brand.
Cate Baze and Justin Grant own Goat Patch Brewing. Cate told What Now Denver the sale is expected to close this week, and more details will follow.
