Half Moon Empanadas will open at the Denver International Airport (8500 Peña Blvd, Denver, CO 80249) before the year’s end, according to 9 News.

Half Moon Empanadas was started in 2008 by husband and wife team Juan Zavala and Pilar Guzman Zavala. The duo conceived the operation in Miami where their central commissary still resides. Before the idea came to life, it was just a dream shared between Juan and Pilar. But the concept quickly developed into something much bigger, springing to life through hard work, passion, and the implementation of the freshest ingredients. Each artisanal empanada produced by Half Moon is made from scratch and assembled by hand.

Today, Half Moon has locations at the Miami International Airport, Florida International University, the University of Miami, and the Miami Beach Convention Center. Each menu offers hungry customers an array of flakey meat pockets, stuffed to the brim with options like ham & cheese, spicy chicken, and even a banana split empanada.
