A burrito chain with nearly a dozen locations across Denver and Boulder and two in Arizona is planning an expansion. Illegal Pete’s is expected to open in Colorado Springs this summer with another location planned for Wheat Ridge this fall.

A third spot at 4455 W. Colfax Ave. is in the works and could become Illegal Pete’s flagship location, according to a BusinessDen article.

The chain’s menu features burritos, bowls, salads, tacos, and nachos. Breakfast choices and a full bar are also available.

According to Illegal Pete’s website, founder Pete Turner opened the first restaurant on The Hill in Boulder back in 1995 because, “I wanted to create a fun and energetic atmosphere with music playing, employees having fun, and I wanted to include our customers in the fun.”

The Colorado Springs spot could open this June at 32 S. Tejon St. The Wheat Ridge location is planned for Gold’s Marketplace at 10009 W. 26th St.
