Early next year, residents of Johnstown will get to experience Smalls Sliders, an Atlanta-based burger chain that’s about to enter the Colorado market. Denver Business Journal recently revealed the first locations of a recent multi-unit franchise deal, and the NoCo town is on the list.

Nick Ralls, co-franchisee for the upcoming eatery, told What Now Denver there is no address assignment yet, but it will be in Johnstown Plaza off Thompson Parkway, near the Shields Sporting Goods. It will be a modular shipping container-style set-up, with counter service, a drive-thru, and outdoor seating.

Ralls will lead the expansion effort with his wife Alix and a silent partner. His first experience with the brand was in Texas, and he admired the environment of a small-scale operation with a tight-knit team and a simple menu. Smalls Sliders serves mini cheeseburgers, waffle fries, shakes, and queso.

“The cool thing about Small Sliders is it’s been very popular everywhere it’s gone. The food is amazing, and we think people here will really enjoy it. We’re very excited to bring it to the Denver area,” he said.

This follows the news we covered that a Northglenn location will be the first to open in the state, sometime later this year. Another outlet is planned for the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood near the airport. More details on that spot are to come.

The brand, founded in 2019, has grown quickly across the U.S., earning recognition last year as a Top New & Emerging Franchise by Franchising.com. And growth has been ramping up recently, with several locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana opening within the last month, and several more expected to debut before the end of 2025.
