The incoming Kung Fu Tea will open at 7740 West Alameda Ave Unit D, Lakewood, CO 80226, according to the establishment’s website.
Kung Fu Tea was conceived in 2009 when friends/founders Michael, Allen, and Ray were walking around Flushing, Queens after returning from a trip to Taiwan. Craving their favorite childhood beverage, bubble tea, they slipped into a tea house that served what they recount as “a mediocre knockoff and not the bubble tea they had come to love in Taiwan.” That’s when Sean entered the picture.
“Sean was quite happy with his own bubble tea chain in Taiwan when his three friends gave him a call. They knew Sean had a knack for making an exceptional cup of bubble tea,” the Kung Fu Tea website explains.
“Hours passed as Michael, Allen, and Ray attempted to get Sean on board with this new idea — though impressed by the group’s passion and proposal to share bubble tea with the rest of the world, Sean had to weigh the risks. Days passed before Sean finally gave his friends a call back, but the three of them were beyond ecstatic to hear Sean accepting the offer on the other side of the line. He was ready to join the team.”
Today, the Kung Fu Tea franchise serves an array of delicious, high-quality teas and tea-infused slushies at its 350+ locations across the nation.
