Le Macaron French Pastries, a patisserie franchise known for its colorful French macarons and artisanal desserts, is preparing to open its first Denver location soon. According to the brand’s website, the company will move into The Pavilions retail center, at 500 16th St Mall, Unit 134.

Building permit records show that architecture plans were revised in late August and approved in late September. A commercial construction permit has been issued, and a final agency inspection is in progress at the 1,006-square-foot space.

The project, led by licensed contractor Yuntaek Lee of Endo Electric & Construction LLC, includes a small kitchen, counter seating, and a single-use restroom.

Records filed with the city show the shop is owned by franchisee Dennis Park. Neither Park and the company returned requests for comment prior to publication.

Founded in 2009 by a mother-daughter team from France, Le Macaron has grown to more than 60 locations nationwide, with more in the pipeline. Last year, Fast Casual reported that the company makes over 2 million macarons annually.
