Who doesn’t miss their old-school burger joint? Walking in to people you know, ordering food made fresh and with care. This old-school-vibe is exactly what the owners of Lucy’s Burger Bar, Michelle McGlone and Nate Collis are going for.
“It’s all going to be really old school, said Michelle McGlone when What Now Denver talked with her. Lucy’s Burger Bar hopes to open by July 1st and is set to have dine-in and take-out. The restaurant wants to add a delivery service later on as well, but said they’re not going to use a third-party service because “we really want to keep the authentic Lucy’s experience.”
Lucy’s gets its name from the Minneapolis specialty burger, the “Juicy Lucy” , as juicy as its name makes it out to be. “The burgers are awesome,” said McGlone, “we take a lot of pride in preparing a delicious product.”
“We are using angus beef and American cheese and the cheese is stuffed in the center of two patties,” said McGlone. “It is juicy.”
If anyone would know a quality Juicy Lucy its definitely these Minneapolis-natives. We can’t wait to try one.
