Maxwell’s Kitchen will debut in Downtown Denver next year according to a Facebook post made by owner Mark Heck. On June 30, Heck reportedly secured the location and announced that renovations would soon take place.
“Nothing beats the food I’m used to in Maryland,” Heck explained in the aforementioned post. “So over the last year, I’ve been plotting and mapping out my own restaurant…The idea is to bring a taste of Maryland and granny’s house to Colorado. It’s been a long time coming but my dream is coming to fruition.”
While there is currently little information as to what type of cuisine the restaurant will serve, mock-ups of the restaurant’s logo found on Heck’s Facebook depict a chicken drumstick alongside an array of herbs & spices. What’s more, as Heck’s hometown of Maryland is rather famous for its fried chicken and traditional southern-inspired side dishes, it would seem Heck may ultimately be leaning in that direction in terms of fare.
It’s currently unclear if the restaurant has connections to the Frederick, Maryland establishment of the same name.
What Now Denver reached out to Heck for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
