Big things are happening at Minturn Whisky Co., which currently operates the smallest whiskey bar in the United States, according to K99. The business has big plans to build a large permanent distillery and tasting room property on its current lot, 161 Main Street in Minturn.

The current temporary shed tasting room, known as the Wee Dram, will be replaced with a two-story building with a hidden “speakeasy” bookcase door, records show. There was a bike shop on the nearly 5,000 square foot lot previously, but that was demolished in 2019.

It will serve as a cocktail lounge in the afternoons and evenings, and operate as a coffee shop serving espresso drinks and breakfast snacks in the AM. The back of the building will house a light manufacturing distillery for proofing, bottling, and limited barrel storage, and will be open for tours and educational events.

Owned and operated by Spence and Stefanie Neubauer, the brand was formerly known as Eagle River Whisky, Vail Daily reports. Liquor licensing shows Minturn Whisky Co. is under the entity Eagle River Holdings Ltd. Stefanie tells What Now Denver they are working on plans but are still a way’s out from development.
