Peet’s Coffee will open at the Denver International Airport (8500 Peña Blvd, Denver, CO 80249) sometime in 2023, according to 9 News. Several other concessions slated for a 2023 DIA opening are reporting debut dates in April.

Peet’s Coffee was founded by Alfred Peet in 1966 in Berekely, California. Peet was a Dutch-American entrepreneur who is now credited with creating the modern coffee craze. According to the company’s website, “to Mr. Peet, it was crucial to have the shortest distance possible between the roaster and the customer, underscoring the importance of freshness to flavor.”

Interestingly enough, in 1971, three young men asked Mr. Peet for advice about the coffee business. Peet reportedly mentored the trio for two years before they branched out and started their own company – a small coffee chain called Starbucks.

Today, Peet’s is a revered and well-known coffee joint with locations across the country and even some international stores.

It is unclear if the Peet’s menu will be altered to match the airport’s atmosphere.
