Permits filed with Weld County over the weekend reveal that Kingman Estates Winery is expanding and building a winery and tasting room. The company has plans for a farm property at 7865 County Rd 2 in Brighton.

The documents state the goal is to construct a “5,400 SF structural steel commercial building on a slab” at the location, which is off a remote road about 24 miles north of Denver. The property last sold in 2022, Zillow records show.

Kingman Estates Winery is a business owned by Doug and Karen Kingman. They make award-winning wine with Palisade grapes.

The business currently has a winery and tasting room near the I-70 and I-25 interchange, and also hosts tasting hours at Stargazer Fine Chocolates and at Paisano Sausage Company. They host private parties and events and have a wine club members can join.
