McDonald’s has a new location under development at 4791 N Airport Way, in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood. Permitting records filed with the city show the company is building a brand new store on an open lot near Denver International Airport.
A single-story drive-through restaurant with 22 parking spaces is being built on the 0.93-acre parcel of land, which is right off Pena Blvd. Development permits and plans have been approved, and work was estimated to be valued at $1.6 million. Christofferson Commercial Builders Inc. is listed as the contractor, with Arris Engineering as architect, Rogers Plumbing Inc. doing the plumbing work, and Kimley-Horn & Associates handling engineering.
While McDonald’s did not return requests for comment regarding the location or any details about the timeline, it appears that the company is in the hiring phase. Job postings online show it’s looking for shift managers, and will train at nearby stores while the place is being finished.
According to documents, operator Juan Samour will run the location under franchise group GJ Mac. An immigrant from El Salvador, he started with the company more than 40 years ago as a crew member and became a McDonald’s franchisee in 1996. Samour owns many restaurants in the metro area.
