A new tenant is officially working towards opening in the former Sancho’s Broken Arrow space at 741 E Colfax Ave. Yonder Bar Denver will take over as a new watering hole, posts from the company on Facebook state.
The business will be a “newgrass” bar, a modern form of bluegrass. There will be pool tables, live music, and a full bar. Yonder Bar is hiring now for multiple positions.
While there are not many details available yet surrounding the pending venue, the company’s website states it will be coming in the winter of 2024. It will be a “safe and inclusive environment at a familiar gathering place in the heart of Denver.”
The space became available after highly publicized contention between the owners of Sancho’s Broken Arrow and the city. The Grateful Dead-themed bar gave up its liquor license and accepted a public nuisance declaration, essentially rendering the business defunct.
