The incoming Sienna Wine Bar & Small Plates will debut at 3434 E 12th Ave, Denver, CO, according to a commercial construction permit filed with the city. Sienna shuttered the doors of its former location on August 15 and Owner Mary Kent and her staff have seemingly been eager to re-open ever since.
The permit’s project description details a multitude of hoops Kent has had to jump through in the process of re-opening, some of which involve blueprint errors.
“The measurable dimensions of the space are smaller than the original plans show, which were based on old blueprints from the landlord, and need to be corrected,” Kent explains in the project description filed on 10/18. “This is important because with a lack of a conforming back exit we are in violation of Denver Fire and Building Code Section 1010.1.5 with an occupancy load of 64. The updated plans show that based on IFC table 1104.5 our occupancy should have always been 48 rather than 64.”
Kent’s plea continues, “We would be most grateful for this to be expedited in any possible way to get my staff back to work and halt the business from going further and further into debt. Everyone just wants to get back to work. Many thanks!”
Per Sienna Wine Bar’s website, they offer “a delightful array of wines from all over the world with delicious choices in every price range. [They provide] 20-25 wines by the glass that change both seasonally & whimsically, and your pick of nearly 70 wines by the bottle.”
