Upscale Thai restaurant Som Dee Thai Kitchen and Bar is getting a second, spinoff location in Larimer Square, first reported by The Denver Post. Located on 1442 Larimer St., the restaurant, Som Dee Signature, will occupy a space formerly home to CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, which closed in 2023 when the building underwent construction.

Denver restaurateur and Som Dee Thai owner Orrapan Botthaisong started her restaurant empire in Edgewater with La Mai Thai Kitchen in 2022, a casual eatery with Thai classics. Two years later, she opened the first Som Dee Thai in Uptown Denver, serving upscale Thai food. Standouts include the spaghetti kee mao scallops, a bright, spicy dish of stir-fried spaghetti, and the pineapple ember duck curry, an enticing, I’ll-have-what-he’s-having dish of marinated duck breast over a coconut milk-based curry, accented with pineapple.

The upcoming Som Dee Signature is currently moving through the permitting system in Denver. The restaurant will occupy the main floor and a lower level area in a 2,210 square-foot buildout, according to Naked Denver. In addition to the main dining area, the restaurant will have two bars, one on either floor.

With an ambitious buildout, Som Dee Signature is aiming for an August 2026 opening.
