Plans are moving forward for an immersive concept in Estes Park that will house a rooftop restaurant, coffee shop, and carousel inside, Estes Valley Voice reports. Named the Stanley Chocolate Factory, it will take over the Old Church Shops at 157 W. Elkhorn Avenue in downtown Estes Park.
JWC Elevations LLC, the entity behind the business, was approved for a liquor license this week. The Estes Park Town Board unanimously approved a Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License for the premises. Now the company has scheduled an opening date: July 4th.
Behind JWC Elevations is John Cullen, a prominent figure who has been in the hospitality industry for 35 years. He also owns Grand Heritage Hotel Group, which operates the Stanley Hotel and the concession options within the resort, its website states.
Originally aiming to open in 2023, many delays have occurred with the project. A Town Council agenda from last month reports that the $9+million construction job was about 80% complete. The building that’s being renovated is 125 years old.
