The lapis lazuli-hued restaurant space on 604 S. Union Blvd. is a fixer-upper. Scroll through Google Maps photos of the space along Prospect Lake, once home to Zorbadillos Heavenly Greek, and you’ll get a short time lapse of the lot falling into disrepair, as grass begins to seep through the many cracks in the parking lot.
However, the space is getting a second life as Perriteaux’s Cajun Restaurant, first reported by Side Dish with Schniper. This revival comes courtesy of Perry Sanders Jr., owner of The Famous Steakhouse and a high-profile lawyer who has represented The Notorious B.I.G. and Michael Jackson’s estate.
In some ways, Perriteaux’s is a revival itself. The restaurant will carry some of the spirit of Sanders’ since-closed Cajun restaurant Springs Orleans. “What I know is Cajun food,” Sanders, a Louisiana native, told Side Dish. Perriteaux’s will serve pared down, more casual Cajun dishes, headed by Chef Jason Miller, an alumni at Springs Orleans.
Perriteaux’s is aiming to open sometime in April.
