The Human Bean, based out of Medford, Oregon, is getting ready to open up their first storefront at 3345 N. Academy Boulevard by the end of the year.

“We’re really excited about bringing this to Colorado,” said franchisee Stan Kelley when he spoke to What Now Denver on Friday.

Although the first location is still a little ways out from opening, Kelley says the company is hoping to add at least 25 locations to the area within the next few years.

“We’re just going to start with a handful for now as we establish a market presence,” he said. “Then, we’re basically going to go all in from there.”

As to the excitement of bringing the shop to Colorado, he said, “We’re local business owners. Our kids go to school here. We’re just excited to be able to serve the community and bring something fun and new out here.”

Kelly says the first location is planned to be open by mid to end of October, with the second location at 2910 E Platt Avenue opening around this time next year.

The coffee shop initially opened back in 1998 and started franchising in 2002. They now operate over 300 locations in 25 states.
