A new restaurant called The Ponti is headed to the newly renovated Martin Building at the Denver Art Museum at 100 W 14th Avenue Parkway.
The restaurant, named after architect Gio Ponti, will be run by Top Chef Master finalist Jennifer Jasinski, who has multiple restaurants in the Denver area and became the first Denver chef to win the James Beard Award in 2013.
A rep for the restaurant said things were going well, and as of now, everything is set to open on October 24. The art museum is also offering free admission that day to debut all eight levels of the remodeled building.
Jasinski will be in charge of developing all the menu concepts and training the restaurant’s culinary staff. The food will be locally sourced and will emphasize vegetables, ancient grains and heirloom legumes that will be complemented by handmade pastas, fish and meat.
Jasinski has several Denver operations already, including Rioja, Bistro Vendôme, Euclid Hall, Stoic & Genuine, and Ultreia. She is known for her sustainability focus and eclectic food stylings, including Mediterranean and French.
The menu at the Ponti will focus on sustainability and include a seasonal rotation based on availability.
The restaurant will also have both indoor and outdoor seating, with the entire thing covering just over 3,700 square feet of space. It will be on the first level of the eight story building and be open to both the general public and museum visitors for lunch service. They will also offer private dining experiences, as well.
