Permits filed with the City and County of Denver show that local Mexican restaurant Tres Chiles is undergoing some renovations. The eatery, which is located at 3900 Tennyson Street, is updating the rooftop to allow for second-story dining.
Records list the scope of the work being done at the address as a “change of use from existing 2nd story storage room and existing roof to assembly use. The work includes additional indoor seating on the 2nd floor and outdoor seating on the new 2nd story roof deck.”
Tres Chiles will also be enlarging existing windows and adding new doorways, a new exterior staircase, and a sprinkler system. The commercial construction permit that was filed last week is listed as “in progress”. Documents list Trent Christensen as the architect, Anchen Wang as the designer, and Elite Construction as the general contractor on the project.
The Berkeley joint originally opened in 2018 in a building that was partially an old residence. It serves customers breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.
