Westbound & Down Brewing Company is opening a new tasting room in Wheat Ridge, according to Westword. Located at 5540 West 29th Street, it’s set to debut in late 2026 or early 2027, bringing a beloved local brand to a new community.

The upcoming 4,000-square-foot space will span two adjacent buildings, featuring eighteen draft lines and a full kitchen serving pizza, sandwiches, and classic pub fare. With a 300-square-foot outdoor courtyard and a 1,600-square-foot rooftop patio bar, it’s set to become a popular hangout spot.

“With Westbound’s founding in Idaho Springs as an Apres destination, it makes sense that our brand recognition and fandom are high in this part of greater Denver. The opportunity to own the building and be in the heart of a burgeoning neighborhood where a lot of our fans are — (and I live just 25 blocks away!) — is amazing,” Jake Gardner, CEO & Director of Brewing Operations, told What Now Denver.

This expansion effort comes amid rapid growth for Westbound & Down, fueled by crowdfunding. In the spring, we covered how the company was trying to raise $1.2 million to increase production and its footprint— and it did so in just two months, surpassing expectations. Now, a new round of funding is in motion to help with this Wheat Ridge location.

Large-scale goals the brand has include quadrupling beer production by 2028, reaching 20,000 barrels annually. It also wants to expand wholesale distribution to Arizona, Illinois, Oregon, California, Texas, and New York, its website discloses.
