The city of Woodland Park will have a new social spot in the future, with a concept called Belmont Whisky House in the works. The business will be located at 214 W Midland Ave.

Shannon Jackson, majority owner and founder of the business, told What Now Denver that they do not currently have an opening date set. There have been some issues with the city and Teller County they are trying to resolve, she said.

Jackson is also the bar manager at Green Mountain Falls’ Black Bear Distillery.

The business will have “unique and rare whiskeys, including a hearty selection of scotches and bourbons,” she told the Colorado Springs Indy. There will also be brandy, cognacs, rum, tequila, and local craft beer on the menu.

To raise money for the company’s opening, Belmont Whisky House’s owners have hosted auctions and cocktail classes. It was named after Dr. William Bell, whom the town was once coined Belmont after, prior to becoming Woodland Park.
