Goodwill of Colorado will open a new retail store in Brighton, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for January 10. The new location is expected to benefit the Brighton community by creating local job opportunities.

Goodwill’s New Brighton Store to Celebrate Opening

A Colorado-based nonprofit organization, Goodwill of Colorado, will officially open its new Brighton retail store on January 10. The retail store is located at 1034 South 8th Avenue.

For its opening day celebration, the retail store will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and has invited the local community to participate. The celebration will continue throughout the day with special giveaways and complimentary refreshments. The first 50 customers will receive Goodwill gift cards.

Goodwill of Colorado is also hosting a food drive from January 11 through January 18. All the donations will go to Giggling Life Care Farm, a local nonprofit organization.

Karla Grazier, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Goodwill of Colorado, said the organization is excited to expand its mission in Brighton. “We are excited to expand our mission in Brighton and to welcome the community into this new Goodwill store and donation center. Our retail locations play a vital role in fueling our mission,” Grazier stated. She added that profits from the store will support free, local job training and education programs.

She said the proceeds will help fund free job training and education programs in the community.

“Proceeds from this store will support free, local job training and education programs, including LIFT IT Training, BankWork$, and our new Clean Tech Accelerator training — programs that help Coloradans build confidence, skills and pathways to lasting employment,” added Grazier.

New Brighton Location Places Emphasis on Jobs, Training

The new Brighton store is expected to create around 50 new jobs in the local community and will continue Goodwill of Colorado’s commitment to inclusive hiring.

Employment opportunities will be available to individuals re-entering the workforce, senior citizens, and veterans. The organization further focuses on providing opportunities to those seeking to develop new job skills.

The new Brighton store underscores Goodwill of Colorado’s ongoing focus on strengthening local communities through job creation.
