Torchy’s Tacos is set to open a new location in Lakewood, according to liquor licensing data. The new restaurant is coming to the shell at 7381 W Alameda Ave., and received liquor license approval for the property in June.

It will occupy the former Village Inn site. Epic Construction, Inc. is spearheading the transformation of the vacant building into a new Torchy’s, LinkedIn posts from a few months ago show.

Torchy’s Tacos’ expansion strategy has seen the chain grow to over 125 locations across 14 states. Founded in 2006 by Mike Rypka as a single food truck in Austin, Texas, the company has become a top contender for tacos in the metro.

The renowned Tex-Mex chain is known for its scratch-made tortillas and bold flavor combinations. The menu features a variety of tacos, including options with chicken, beef, vegetables, and bacon, along with fully stocked bars.
