Detroit Cookie Company, a locally owned cookie company with sites in Ferndale and St. Clair Shores, is getting ready to expand throughout Detroit and Beyond.

The company, owned and operated by founder Lauren Roumayah, appears to be ready to accelerate its expansion plans by searching for a new location in the greater Detroit area, according to Crains Detroit. Roumayah made it clear that she wants to grow quickly by posting on Detroit Cookie Company’s Facebook, announcing that the company is looking for any bakeries for sale within Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties. While keeping her options open, Roumayah hopes to land in Detroit.

Ideally, she is looking for a bakery for sale, not for lease, and is between 2,000 and 5,000 square feet. Roumayah hopes the new freestanding space will be on a major road with plenty of parking options. Hopefully, the eager business owner can find a place and open a third location before the end of the year, offering delicious cookies. Customers can order these cookies and other mouth-watering desserts on DashMart, which Detroit Cookie Co. partnered with last November.

This proves impressive for Detroit Cookie Co., which began in 2015, operating out of a shared kitchen space to fulfill online and wholesale orders. The company opened its first brick-and-mortar location in 2017 in Ferndale, taking over the former French Gourmet space. In 2022, Detroit Cookie Co. expanded by opening a second location in St. Clair Shores in the former home of Harper Bakery.
