A large new development project to feature a two-story bar and lounge is in the works.
It was previously announced that CODA, a luxury condominium development to have a restaurant and two-story bar, would be under construction last year. There have been various delays, but the developers are still planning on constructing the space. It will be at 2847 John R Street.
“Nestled in the heart of Detroit’s Brush Park, CODA emerges as a testament to innovation, sustainability and homage to the past,” says the description from Oombra Architects.
Exactly what the restaurant will be and its menu has not been released. It is confirmed that there will also be a rooftop terrace above the restaurant. The building will be designed so that the two-story bar connects to the restaurant.
The project is designed by Oombra Architects. This is the company that has many projects across the country including the Detroit Design District Lofts, which are mixed use lofts with the first phase currently complete.
The building will be constructed with mass timber and is meant to be a sustainable project. It will have large glass windows to look out. The building is right across from the historic Ranson Gillis House and close to the restaurants Bar Pigalle and Lena.
What Now Detroit has reached out to the owner/developer, and this article may be updated.
