Ferlito’s Restaurant, located at 20745 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236, took to its Facebook page on June 8, 2025. Ten years ago, the current owner Joshua Mowen took over the then-40-year-old restaurant.. The post announced that Ferlito’s will serve its last day on June 29, 2025.

The restaurant thanked every customer and staff member for their incredible contribution to the journey. Ferlito’s was not only a restaurant, but a memory for many of its customers. From first meetings to milestone celebrations, the place has seen it all.

The restaurant has encouraged guests to come in for a final meal in these final days for a last meal and a warm goodbye.

Ferlito’s Restaurant has been serving Italian cuisine with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes for more than four decades. From hand-tossed pizza to pasta and sides, every item on the menu has been curated with love.

According to the restaurant, over the past decade, they raised approximately $30,000 in food and monetary donations. Apart from supporting the local community with these proceeds, the restaurant fared well during the pandemic by not compromising food quality or employee wages.

The closure of Ferlito’s Restaurant doesn’t mean the end of its recipes. The restaurant also has a carryout location at 22910 Harper Ave, St Clair Shores, MI 48080. This Ferlito’s Pizzeria will continue to serve pizzas, ribs, and other side dishes to new and maybe some familiar faces.

The restaurant industry sometimes faces unpredictable challenges, like the case of Ferlito’s. With everything going fine, ongoing repair costs and building-maintenance issues made continued operation at that location unsustainable, leaving the community sad for losing their long-time staple.
