Houston’s sports and entertainment scene is getting a boost this Independence Day. Uptown Sporting Club will officially open on July 4 at Uptown Park. The concept combines live sports viewing, upscale dining, handcrafted cocktails, and late-night entertainment.
Uptown Sporting Club Debuts in Houston

Located at 1131 Uptown Park Blvd., Suite 1, Uptown Sporting Club spans approximately 5,000 square feet. The sports and cocktail bar features a spacious indoor lounge and outdoor patio.
The concept comes from restaurateurs Roveen Abante and Daniel Chang. Abante is known for Galleria Conservatory, BurgerChan, Sushi Rebel, and Dropshots. Chang’s portfolio includes Uptown Sushi and Sushi Rebel.
The owners say Uptown Sporting Club is designed as a hospitality-driven alternative to a traditional sports bar. Guests can visit for major sporting events, good food, and craft cocktails. The venue will transition into a late-night destination with DJs and cocktails.
“We didn’t set out to build another sports bar,” said co-owner Roveen Abante. “We created a sporting cocktail lounge that transforms into nightlife – a place where people can come together to watch a big game, enjoy great food and cocktails, and stay long after the final whistle. It’s an experience built around community, hospitality, and memorable moments.”
The opening coincides with a busy summer schedule of international soccer tournaments. The venue plans to host watch parties throughout the tournament and beyond. Events will include Texans games, Astros playoff runs, Rockets matchups, UFC events, Premier League matches, March Madness, the Super Bowl, and WNBA games.

Inside the Venue

The space has been designed by Sparrow Studio in collaboration with the ownership team and constructed by TDK Builders. The interior features wood finishes, chrome-plated brass details, comfortable seating, and barrel-vaulted ceilings inspired by whiskey barrels. The custom artwork honoring legendary athletes establishes the sports-focused identity.
Guests can watch games on eight large-screen televisions and a 115-inch LED display. An advanced audio, lighting, and video system will help make the game-day gathering spot into a late-night entertainment venue.
The venue also features 134 illuminated bottle lockers for members. Members will receive exclusive privileges. These include priority reservations, expedited entry, preferred bottle pricing, invitations to private events, merchandise discounts, and personalized engraved lockers. An application process for membership will open following the World Cup.
Food and Drinks at Elevated Sports and Nightlife Destination

The menu pairs elevated comfort food with globally inspired flavors. Menu highlights include Korean Fried Chicken, Fresh-Cut Truffle Fries, Steak Frites, Double Wagyu Smashburgers, and artisan flatbreads.
The beverage menu includes high-quality spirits, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options. Visitors can also try signature cocktails like the Flying Emirates, Texas Pecan, Caprese Martini, and Out of Office.
After the grand opening, the venue will offer happy hour and game-day specials.
Uptown Sporting Club hopes to bring a new perspective to the sports bar scene in Houston. The venue plans to host sports watch parties, nightlife events, and seasonal programming throughout the year.
