Chuy’s is bringing its bold Tex-Mex flair to the growing town of Willis. According to public filings, the Austin-born brand will be planting roots at Highway 45 and FM 1097, delivering a brand-new standalone location with over 5,400 square feet of space.

Founded in 1982, Chuy’s is known for its quirky atmosphere, hand-rolled tortillas, and made-from-scratch menu that balances classic Tex-Mex staples with a few playful surprises. The company, which is now part of the Darden Restaurants family, has expanded steadily across the South and beyond, while staying true to its fun-first approach and signature Elvis-themed touches.

The upcoming Willis location is being built from the ground up, with plans calling for site improvements and full new construction. The listed project cost comes in at $1.75 million, based on permit records filed with the state.

The new restaurant will span 5,426 square feet and bring a full-service dining option to the growing retail corridor near I-45 and FM 1097. Construction is set to kick off in August 2025 with completion targeted for February 2026.
