Katy is about to get another taste of the fast-casual restaurant, Culver’s, as Owner/Operator Brian Spolnicki prepares to open his second location at 3133 Peek Rd.
Spolnicki, who made the transition from the oil industry to restaurant ownership, said his love for hospitality and fast food started at a young age. “I’ve always had a passion for fast food,” he shared with What Now Houston. “It’s very personal. It is a people business.” This passion led him to Culver’s, where he values the brand’s focus on quality that ensures every restaurant upholds high standards.
A key part for Spolnicki is his commitment to the community, particularly with the Future Farmers of America (FFA). Culver’s has been a longtime supporter of the organization and even holds a seat on the Board of the National Council for the FFA. To mark the groundbreaking ceremony on March 8, 2025, Culver’s of Katy held an event in support of the FFA. Spolnicki also works closely with local FFA chapters and other charitable organizations, reinforcing his dedication to giving back.
“There’s something special about Culver’s. It’s the people,” Spolnicki emphasized, adding that he chose to franchise with the brand to be more involved in the community.
Originally starting in Wisconsin, the restaurant became known for its ButterBurgers®, made with fresh, never frozen beef, and its handcrafted Fresh Frozen Custard, which is available in vanilla, chocolate, and a daily rotating Flavor of the Day. Guests can also enjoy Wisconsin Cheese Curds, fresh salads, chicken sandwiches, and a variety of other menu items.
With strong community ties and a passion for quality food, Spolnicki is eager to bring another True Blue Crew to the Katy area. “I’m very excited to bring another Culver’s to Texas, and specifically the Katy area where I’ve watched the community and my family grow all these years,” he said.
The restaurant, which will be the 1,029th Culver’s nationwide, is expected to open in late August 2025. Hiring for management positions is currently underway, with crew hiring set for July 2025. Once open, the restaurant will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, apart from certain holidays.
