Dairy Queen enthusiasts in Bay City are in for a treat as the popular fast-food chain at 2921 7th St is scheduled to undergo a comprehensive makeover early next year, confirmed by Santiago Garza, Director of Operations at CTX Restaurants, Inc.

In a recent interview, Garza revealed that the remodel will not only update the exterior to a modern design but will transform the restaurant into a bigger, brighter establishment, almost unrecognizable from its current form.

The interior overhaul is set to be extensive, including a fully gutted dining room and a brand new kitchen, along with some extension efforts to accommodate the new layout. The renovation plans also include the addition of a second drive-thru window, aimed at enhancing customer service and reducing wait times.

One of the key aspects of this renovation is the commitment of CTX Restaurants to its employees. Garza emphasized that all staff members will have the opportunity to work at surrounding area stores, ensuring that everyone remains employed during the renovation period.

CTX Restaurants, under the leadership of Owner & CEO David West, is expanding its portfolio. By the start of the year, the company will own 50 Dairy Queen franchises, four independent restaurants, and a gas station, once several ongoing deals are officially closed. This expansion marks a significant growth phase for CTX Restaurants, Inc., further cementing its presence in the fast-food industry in Texas.

The Bay City location is expected to reopen no later than the end of March 2024 after it begins the renovations at the start of 2024, assuming all goes according to plan. This renovation is part of a larger initiative by CTX Restaurants, with more locations, including West Columbia or Wharton, slated for remodeling soon after.
