It’s not every day that a family’s dream and business acumen culminate in a venture that promises great taste and community connection. Enter Sadia Kasim and Mohammed Sorathia, the husband-and-wife duo, who will soon open their first franchised location of Wayback Burgers at 18321 W Airport Blvd #110, Richmond, TX.

The journey to this point has been meticulously planned as a great deal of research went in before making their decision. It was a fortuitous advertisement on social media that introduced them to Wayback Burgers. But it was the brand’s flexibility to offer halal options that genuinely sealed the deal for them.

Currently contracted for just one location, the duo has grand visions for the future. As pioneers, opening the first Wayback Burgers in Houston, they’re keen on expanding their partnership with the brand based on their maiden outlet’s anticipated success.

Location is everything in the food business, and the couple’s choice of Richmond is no accident. Living close by, they wanted a location where they could provide immediate support if needed. Their commitment is further evident in their extensive quality checks. The two traveled to each Texas location of Wayback to ensure the quality remained consistent throughout. “It was crucial for us to ensure we serve the best to our community,” Kasim told What Now Houston. She also mentioned that her personal favorites were the smash burger and the shakes.

But this venture isn’t just about the couple. With three children, two of whom are teenagers, the family element shines through. It was their kids, ever tuned in to current trends, who suggested incorporating an ‘Instagramable’ spot at the outlet, an idea that’s now in the works with the Wayback Burgers corporate team.

With its spacious 1700 square feet and a convenient location, the new Wayback Burgers promises to be a hotspot for burger aficionados with a projected grand opening in January 2024.
