Signaling continued growth, Golden Chick, a renowned fast-food franchise, is set to open its newest location at 10966 Grant Rd, a site previously occupied by the seafood restaurant, Playa Azul. This endeavor is led by Sebastian Burton and Britney Golston, who are not only life partners but also seasoned franchisees within the Golden Chick brand.

The couple, who have been affiliated with Golden Chick since 2017, first cut their teeth as General Managers before acquiring their initial franchise in Southwest Houston. Interestingly, this first location holds sentimental value as it’s the same store where Golston began her journey with the brand. Despite her responsibilities as a franchisee, Golston continues to play an active role within the corporate structure of Golden Chick as well.

Their current project involves transforming the now-shuttered Playa Azul building into a thriving Golden Chick outlet. This marks their second franchised location, aligning with their ambitious goal of opening one new store per year, eventually aiming for a portfolio of 10 or more restaurants, as told to What Now Houston by Burton. He also hinted at exploring other franchising opportunities in the future, indicating a broad vision for their business endeavors.

The duo’s success story is a testament to their dedication and expertise in the fast-food industry. Their new venture in Northwest Houston is expected to have renovations begin in February 2024, according to the permit on file, with the project completing in December 2024.
