Goode Company Restaurants is bringing its Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina to Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood, which is set to open at 2002 W Gray St. This brings the restaurant’s count up to four in Houston. This location, however, will feature a twist with an adjoining tequila-focused bar called Bar Buena.
Founded in 1977 by Jim Goode and now led by Chef Levi Goode, Goode Company is a Houston-based independent restaurant group featuring six distinct concepts and 11 locations. With a legacy of authentic Texas cooking and hospitality, the brand continues to expand, offering everything from award-winning pecan pies to expertly crafted dining experiences.
“We are excited to continue Goode Company’s journey and expand into the River Oaks community with this new location,” said Goode Company Chef and President Levi Goode. “We aim to create an inviting atmosphere where people can unwind, relax on our outdoor patio, enjoy some delicious food, or take in an excellently crafted cocktail at Bar Buena.”
Guests at the new location can expect Kitchen & Cantina’s signature dishes, including Mesquite-grilled Fajitas, Redfish on the Half Shell, and Tres Hombres Plate, alongside Bar Buena’s artisanal cocktails. Inspired by the traditional mezcal-making process, Bar Buena’s offerings will include favorites like the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, Batanga, and a variety of margaritas, complemented by lighter bites such as Gulf Crab Tostadas and Aguachile Verde.
Goode Co. Kitchen & Cantina has built its reputation on quality ingredients and meticulous preparation making this expansion well-deserved. From hand-grinding sausage to rolling fresh tortillas in-house, the team’s attention to detail has become a staple for the restaurant. Bar Buena will provide a cavern-like design and agave-focused menu with a nod to Mexico’s rich artisanal traditions, offering a specific experience.
The River Oaks neighborhood can expect this combo’s doors to open in March 2025.
