HB Protein Smoothies is coming to Houston! The Arizona-born brand recently signed a six-unit deal to debut the brand in Houston, according to Restaurant News.

What Now Houston briefly chatted with HB Protein Smoothie co-founder Daniel Boone, who confirmed the opening. Boone was unable to share further details by the time of this publication. But informed us that more details are to come. So stay tuned for updates!

The deal was signed by a confidential, experienced restaurant operations group working with Nick Hernandez from HF VenturesWhat Now also reached out to Hernandez, but we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

HB Protein Smoothies was founded more than 14 years ago by the father-and-son team of Boone and his son, Ethan.  With the goal of creating high-protein shakes that taste like ice cream instead of chalk, the brand quickly began to gain traction. The two developed a proprietary recipe with 35-50 g of protein and roughly 250-400 calories. The brand then partnered with Fransmart—the franchise developer behind brands like Five Guys and The Halal Guys—to launch a national expansion model.

What Now reached out to the CEO of Fransmart and investor in HB Protein Smoothies, Dan Rowe, to find out more about the new six-unit deal. But, did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Dessert-flavored smoothies that deliver real nutrition—backed by solid Item 19 numbers and a low-labor model. With major players like Starbucks entering the protein space, the demand is clear,” the HB Protein Smoothies website reads.

“The high-protein movement isn’t slowing down. This could be your opportunity to build something scalable while serving your community something better.”

HB Protein Smoothies offers high-protein, low-calorie meal replacement shakes, nutritious snacks, and specialty drinks. Their core offerings include flavored protein smoothies, natural protein balls, and energy drinks.

The brand currently operates one flagship corporate location in Scottsdale, Arizona, but it has more than 200 HB Protein Smoothie units in development through recent nationwide franchise deals.

With these six new units coming to Houston, the brand is adding to its already fast-growing footprint that now includes Gilbert, Arizona, California, Florida, British Columbia, Canada, and the recently announced Pacific Northwest and Southwest territories.

No word just yet on when or where the first Houston HB Protein Smoothies will open exactly. But we’re sure that information will be released soon enough. So, keep your ears perked and your eyes open for the latest!

HB Protein Smoothies is slated to open six-new units in Houston in the near future.
