Long Wang Restaurant just may be the Christmas present Houston has been waiting for. According to the permit document submitted this week, the new eatery will open doors at 8282 Bellaire Blvd., Ste. 156, and construction is expected to be completed by mid-December of this year.
The owner listed on the permit is a Tuan Nguyen. What Now Houston reached out to Nguyen on multiple occasions, but was repeatedly met by the voicemail of Heidi Tuan. Tuan confirmed by text that construction is currently underway on the new food concept. But Tuan did not share any further details by the time of publication.
Long Wang Restaurant does not have a website or social media presence just yet, but its address shows that the new restaurant is expected to pop up in the ViNa Plaza in Spring Branch, amongst dining options like Paris Sandwich and Thai Spice.
The 3,100 square-foot remodel of the former neighborhood Vietnamese eatery, Tau Bay, stands at an estimated $350,000. Tau Bay is currently listed as permanently closed on Google, but the reason behind the closure is unknown.
But, where one dining option disappears, another quickly blossoms. The permit outlines a two-month renovation timeline.
What Now Houston did ask Tuan about the menu, but unfortunately, there’s nothing to entice your palate at this point. Tuan did not respond to the request for more information.
While an official grand opening date has yet to be revealed, you can likely expect to see Long Wang Restaurant up and operating by the end of the year, barring any bumps in its journey to serving the Houston community.
