Fulshear is about to get a tropical twist as Playa Bowls prepares to open its newest location at 28432 FM 1093 Suite C in the coming months. The franchise, known for its delicious açai bowls, smoothies, and health-forward offerings, will be brought to the community by first-time franchisee Aliyah Slater. Her excitement was sparked by a chance encounter with the brand.
After just one visit to Playa Bowls in San Antonio, she instantly knew she wanted to share her experience with people in Houston. With its roots in the Jersey Shore and a focus on fresh, customizable bowls packed with superfoods, the acai bowl brand has developed a loyal following nationwide, and is something Slater is excited to cultivate locally.
With an eye on expansion, this first-time franchisee is already thinking beyond her first opening. “I’d love to bring more of it to the Houston area,” Slater told What Now Houston, hinting at future locations to come.
Currently, the aim is for a Summer 2025 opening, giving Slater the chance to share Playa Bowls’ seasonal flavors she’s most excited about.
