A new coffee concept is on its way to Humble, bringing with it more than just espresso and pastries. Ninety9 Cafe, from first-time owner Deborah Hernandez, is headed to 14814 John Ralston Rd #130 and promises to offer a cozy space where community and caffeine meet.
Hernandez’s journey to launching the cafe didn’t begin in the kitchen or behind a coffee counter. “I can’t discredit or share glory with what God has called me to do,” she said. “About 3 months ago when I placed my two weeks notice, I didn’t know what was to come. It was a step in faith. A week later, I was viewing this building. What once felt like a small talk dream is turning into reality.”
The menu at Ninety9 Cafe will keep things focused and approachable, with offerings like coffee, matcha, and pastries. While the selections may be simple, the heart behind them runs deep. Hernandez, who only briefly worked as a barista at 17 before moving into corporate life, says the call to open a coffee shop came suddenly but clearly. Despite her short stint, she’s back and is jumping in head first.
The space is currently in the build-out phase, and if all goes according to plan, Ninety9 Cafe is aiming to open its doors by mid August 2025. Follow the cafe’s Instagram for more information as it is released.
