Pho Prime is set to open doors at another Houston staple this year. According to the team behind the beloved Vietnamese eatery, Mamba Hospitality Group, the new Pho Prime is planned for a fall opening within Stomping Grounds in Garden Oaks at 1223 W 34th St.
What Now Houston briefly spoke with co-owner Keit Duong, whose team shared more details.
“After the success of our first two locations, we saw an opportunity to bring Pho Prime to one of Houston’s fastest-growing neighborhoods,” the Mamba Hospitality Group shared.
“Garden Oaks has an incredible sense of community, and we’re excited to become part of it.”
Co-owners Duong and Julie Nguyen, the great minds behind sister concept Crawfish Cafe, are planning a grand opening for the new Pho Prime on October 3rd this year, barring final permit approvals and construction progress.
“We hope to create a welcoming gathering place where neighbors can enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine, whether they’re grabbing a quick lunch, enjoying dinner with family, or introducing friends to the cuisine,” the team shared.
Pho Prime debuted in Houston in early 2025 as an assembly-line, fast-casual pho restaurant. Famous for its build-your-own bowls and signature Oxtail Pho, the brand quickly expanded. There are now four active Pho Prime locations serving the Greater Houston region and its visitors.
“Pho Prime is a modern Vietnamese restaurant that blends authentic flavors with a welcoming, contemporary atmosphere,” Mamba Hospitality Group said.
“We focus on fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and an elevated dining experience that’s approachable for both longtime fans of Vietnamese cuisine and first-time guests.”
The new Pho Prime will open doors this fall in the space previously occupied by Pho Fix, which closed in January after three years of business. The new Pho Prime will open at the Stomping Grounds in Garden Oaks in good company. The mixed-use center offers a host of bars and restaurants, including La Mex, High Five Mini Bar, and Bollo Woodfired Pizza.
“Garden Oaks continues to experience tremendous growth while maintaining its neighborhood feel,” the team said.
“Stomping Grounds was the perfect fit because it brings together local businesses in a community-focused environment.”
Perhaps the biggest key to the growing food chains’ success is the signature slow-simmered pho. But Pho Prime is primed for a host of menu highlights to satisfy any appetite, including fresh spring rolls, Bánh mì, Bo Ne (Steak and Eggs), Vermicelli bowls, Rice plates, and Vietnamese coffee and specialty beverages. With a roster like this, we’re sure this will not be the last expansion we’ll be writing about.
“We’re always exploring opportunities to grow thoughtfully, but our primary focus is making the Garden Oaks location a great experience for the community,” Mamba Hospitality Group said.
The new Pho Prime is anticipated to open within the Stomping Grounds in Garden Oaks at 1223 W 34th St by this fall.
“We’re excited to join the Garden Oaks community and can’t wait to welcome everyone through our doors this fall.”
